Your file can contain one language or many — we'll pick up all the translations we find. You can also upload a file for a specific language, and we'll match the keys to your project automatically.
CSV
Must have a column named "key" or "id" (case-insensitive, any position). Language columns are detected by name or code. If there is no Source column, the column matching your project's source language will be used as source.

Foxalize is a simple localization tool that helps you translate your apps, games, websites, and materials fast. Upload your translation file, add languages, click "Translate with AI", edit if needed, and download the result. That's it. No complicated setup. No hidden steps.
It takes about 30 seconds: Sign up for free, create a project, upload your translation file (JSON, XLIFF, or CSV), add the languages you need, click "Translate with AI", review, edit if needed, and download. No credit card required for the free plan. No tutorials to watch. Just jump in.
Currently supported formats: XLIFF — industry standard for localization, JSON — popular for web apps and games, CSV — simple and universal. You upload a file, work with it, and download the same file format back. Your file structure stays intact. If your specific JSON or CSV format isn't supported yet — email us at contact@foxalize.ch! We're expanding format coverage over time and your input helps us prioritize.
Nope. If you've ever used a spreadsheet, you can use Foxalize. We intentionally kept the interface minimal. Most users figure it out in under a minute without reading any docs.
AI Translation
When you click "Translate with AI", Foxalize sends your source text to advanced language models that understand context, tone, and technical terms. The AI translates everything while trying to preserve meaning, placeholders, and the overall tone of your app or game.
No. AI translations are included in your plan — even the free one. You don't buy credits, tokens, or add-ons just to translate your files. Simple as that.
Pretty good for most use cases! But here's the honest truth: AI can sometimes struggle with short keys that sound like commands — words like "Continue", "Back", or "Save" might get translated in unexpected ways depending on context. We always recommend reviewing your translations before shipping, using the search feature to check specific words you care about, and having native speakers check critical content. AI translation is a powerful starting point, but results should always be reviewed.
Usually seconds to a couple of minutes, depending on how much text you have. A typical app with a few hundred strings translates in under a minute. You can watch the progress in real-time.
Yes! When creating a project, you can add a description with context about your app — what it does, who it's for, and any terminology preferences. You can update this anytime in Project Settings. This helps the AI make smarter translation choices.
Foxalize tries to detect and preserve common placeholder formats: {variable} and {{variable}}, %s, %d, %@ and similar printf-style, $variable and ${variable}, HTML tags. The AI knows not to translate these, but we recommend double-checking placeholders in your results — especially for complex or unusual formats.
Editing & Workflow
Yes, absolutely. You can edit any translation manually, re-run AI translation for a single language or all languages, and mix manual edits and AI freely. You're always in control of the final result.
Just re-upload your updated file. Foxalize will keep your existing translations for keys that still exist, add new keys from your file, and remove keys that are no longer in your source file. Note: We don't highlight new or changed keys yet — that's a planned feature. But your existing translation work is preserved as long as the keys match.
Not yet, but it's on our roadmap. For now, we recommend keeping backups of your translation files before major changes. You can always download your current state at any time.
Yes. You can search by key name or translation content, and filter by language. Super useful for checking how specific words got translated across all your languages — just type in something like "continue" or "save" and see all the results.
Languages
Foxalize supports all languages that modern AI translation models handle — which is a lot. This includes all major European languages, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, and many more. All plans, including free, support all languages with no limits.
If your file format supports pluralization (like XLIFF or structured JSON), Foxalize preserves those structures. The AI is aware of different plural forms across languages — for example, that Russian has different rules than English.
Team & Collaboration
Yes. You can invite collaborators to your projects. They can help review, edit, and manage translations together with you. Collaborators are unlimited on all plans.
Collaborators can view, edit, and manage translations within the projects you've invited them to. They can run AI translations, make manual edits, and download files.
Yes! When you invite a collaborator, they receive an email notification letting them know they've been invited to your project. More notification types are planned for the future.
Plans & Pricing
We offer two plans: Free plan — great for testing and small projects, Magic plan — perfect for solo devs and small teams who need more projects and keys. All plans include unlimited languages and unlimited collaborators. The main difference is the number of projects and keys you can have.
If you hit your project limit, extra projects become locked (nothing is deleted). If you hit your key limit, you can't add more keys, but you can still edit existing translations, download files, or upload a new source file with fewer keys. Your data is never lost — upgrading unlocks everything again.
Foxalize has hidden rate limits to prevent abuse and keep the system healthy. They're higher on paid plans, high enough for normal, fair work, and not meant to be gamed. For normal app, game, or website localization, you won't hit them. We don't publish exact numbers because they're not targets — just guardrails.
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel whenever you want. If you downgrade, you keep access until the end of your billing period, and your data stays safe even if some features become locked.
How Foxalize Compares
Foxalize focuses on simplicity and fairness: No API setup required, no "credits" or hidden AI costs, you don't pay extra to use AI translations, clear, generous limits, built by a small team, for small teams. We're not trying to compete with enterprise features. We're building a tool that we ourselves needed — something simple that just works.
You could! But Foxalize gives you: a proper workflow for managing translations across languages, automatic handling of placeholders and variables, a clean interface for reviewing and editing, file format preservation (your JSON stays JSON), and team collaboration. Copy-pasting into Google Translate works for a few strings, but gets messy fast for real projects.
Foxalize is perfect for solo developers, indie game studios, small teams and startups, websites, apps, games, and marketing materials. We're a small team ourselves, building this for teams like us. If you don't need enterprise workflows and just want localization to be easy and affordable, Foxalize is for you.
Roadmap
We're actively working on Foxalize and have a bunch of things planned: Translation key statuses (new, changed, reviewed, etc.), highlighting new and changed keys when you update your source file, glossary support for consistent terminology, API access for CI/CD integration, more collaboration improvements, smarter translation workflows. No promises on timing, but these are the things we're thinking about.
Yes, very much! We're a small team actively building and improving Foxalize. We use it ourselves for our own apps and games — it's not a side project or demo. It's a real tool we rely on daily.
Feedback & Support
Email us at contact@foxalize.ch! We're a small team and we actually read and reply to messages. We don't have 24/7 support, but we try to respond within a day or two.
Please do! We genuinely want to hear from you at contact@foxalize.ch. Feedback directly influences what we build next. Found a bug? Have an idea? Something annoying you? Let us know. We're building Foxalize for ourselves and for the community, so your input really matters. Some of our best improvements came from user suggestions.
Yes. We actively use Foxalize ourselves in production for real apps and games. It's not a demo project — it's a tool we rely on daily. If it's good enough for us to ship with, it's good enough for you.
